Joanne Kouba

I-PATH Faculty

Joanne Kouba, PhD, RD, LDN

Dr. Kouba is an Assistant Professor
and Director of the Dietetics Education Programs at the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. Her research interests center on chronic disease prevention through optimal dietary patterns and obesity prevention, particularly in children and adolescents, and community food access.

Dr. Kouba is a big proponent for dietetic information, and practice becoming a larger player in regard to clinical care and preventive practice. She feels that dieticians will play a key role in the future, laying groundwork for healthier population efforts designed to not only help people live healthier, but also drive down the escalating costs of health care. Dr. Kouba believes these collaborative efforts between the various health provider divisions offer rewarding opportunities to today’s dieticians to play a leading role in moving health care forward.

Her students will be providing dietary and other guidance related to dietetics and healthy living. This information will be posted in the Population Health Portal on the I-PATH.
